Lakewood School Based Program
This program provides a full array of behavioral health and social services to the students of the Lakewood School System and their families. These services include, but are not limited to: individual, group and family counseling, case management, medical assistance, substance abuse services, college exposure, job readiness training, and recreation. Visitation Program
This program serves families who have had a child or children placed in foster care by the Division of Youth and Family Services and who are required to be supervised in order to visit with their child or children. The goal of this program is to maintain regular contact on a planned basis between child, parent, family members and/or significant others that will reinforce the plan of reunification, help the child to maintain a sense of family identity or determine other permanent plans for the child. Shore Youth Center (Shelter)
A 12 bed facility providing residential care to children in a non-physically restrictive environment. Length of stay usually does not exceed 30 days. The services of the Center are available for children under the age of 18 who are: (1) abused, abandoned, and/or neglected; (2) in need of temporary emergency care; and/or (3) charged or awaiting adjudication in the Family Court, pursuant to State Law
Shore Youth Center is designed to meet the needs of each child while in this difficult transition period. The program provides individual counseling, group therapy, family therapy and life skills training. The Center's major objective is to facilitate the continuation of conmmunity-based activities whenever possible. Call (732) 286-6763
Project Independence
This program is designed to give adolescents, sixteen (16) through twenty- one (21), a head start for responsible living as young adults. Each client is given a comprehensive independent living skills assessment to determine life skills proficiency levels. Intensive training is then provided through both educational groups and individual skills training sessions. Participation in the program is at least six (6) months long but can continue as long as the youth's commitment to obtaining the goal is evident. Call (732) 367-1352
Wrap Around Services
This service is custom-fitted to meet the individual needs of children and their families. These services include, but are not limited to, traditional individual and family counseling, in-home therapeutic services, companionship services, and parenting training. Call (732) 458-1700
F.A.C.E.S.: Family and Early Childhood Education Services
F.A.C.E.S. is targeted to reach infants, toddlers, and children through the age of kindergarten. There are four (4) primary core components of F.A.C.E.S.
Quality Child Care: The Family Day Care Providers and the Licensed Day Care Centers in Lakewood benefit from early childhood training and national accreditation.
Prenatal and Health Care: A nurse/practitioner, along with other staff, outreach to the Early Day Care Providers, the Licensed Day Care Centers, the Lakewood Pre-schools, and the Lakewood Kindergarten classes. Health screenings, home visits, and guidance regarding childhood development are provided.
Parenting Education: Staff offer community parenting seminars. In addition, home visits are available to further assist parents.
Literacy: Early childhood education and reading readiness are crucial for the development of our children. Parents are encouraged to become involved in the educational process.

Foster Care Services
The program provides an array of services to foster families and children placed in their care. These services include, but are not limited to, in-home behavior management, tutoring and support services.
The program is designed to strengthen the foster child's ability to transition into and successfully be maintained in his/her new home. Additionally, services will enhance the foster parent skills, understanding of the dynamics, permanency and stability. Call: (732) 905-5106
Brick School Based Program
This program addresses social and health needs among teens to promote healthy youth development and support the expanding availability of counseling, employment, health, pregnancy prevention, and other social services in a comprehensive "one-stop shopping" manner, in a non- stigmatized setting.

Child Protection Substance Abuse Initiative (CPSAI)
This program provides child protection through the identification, assessment, referral and follow-up of families to substance abuse treatment programs. The CPSAI supports the recovery of families and caregivers through the use of our home visitor services. The program is for families associated with the Division of Youth and Families Services. Healthy Families
Healthy Families serves to prevent abuse and neglect of children under five (5) years of age by providing early risk identification and intervention to families at risk. Assistance to at-risk parents is provided to promote positive child development for their infants and young children. The program staff ensure that families, at risk for child abuse and neglect, receive appropriate health and supportive services; as well as identify and build on family strengths and support parents as the primary care givers and nurturers of their children. Children's Mobile Response and Stabilization Service
Children's Mobile Response and Stabilization Service is available to families 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, when a child is in crisis. The severity of the crisis cannot warrant psychiatric hospitalization or an arrest by the police department.
This in-home intervention is available in order to diffuse and stabilize the child and family in their home. Call: 1-877-652-7624
