Rachel Knecht said, “Thank you for putting Rock to Prevent together! It was a great time and I'm so glad to have been a part of it! Music for me, personally, has been a great way to prevent drug and alcohol abuse as a young teenage girl still in high school. I hope to perform at more benefits you throw.”
Also participating were Prevention First’s youth group, Youth Time 2 Shine. They recruited new members into their youth leadership program. “Having a venue where our youth can show off their talent is a wonderful opportunity to engage youth in positive experiences. Research has shown that a child involved in a hobby is much less likely to become involved in drugs or alcohol use,” stated Mary Pat Angelini, CEO of Preferred Behavioral Health Group of which Prevention First is an affiliate.
Lynne Ward, who helped organize the event, said, “The Rock to Prevent 2015 lineup was better than ever! It was my pleasure to work with such talented bands and acoustic artists! Everyone brought their own unique style to the stage for an unforgettable event! Thanks to the Stone Pony and to the PBHG for helping us put on such a great show!”
