Always seeking to innovate, Preferred Behavioral Health of NJ has created an online bookstore, Preferred Books NJ.  The store launched in 2011 to enhance the services we provide. Preferred Books NJ is staffed by the consumers we serve—providing them valuable job skills for the future.

Preferred’s consumers are involved in every step of the process which includes collecting and sorting donations, inputting item information into the computer, placing items in storage, and receiving and shipping orders to buyers.  These learned skills translate into increased confidence and empowerment which are important parts of overall wellness.  As consumers gain more experience at the bookstore, they are given the opportunity to teach their peers the skills they have learned.  

The store also serves as a way for all members of our community to recycle their unwanted books and contribute to a good cause.  All donations are tax deductible and encouraged.  We are always looking for gently used books, DVDs, and CDs.
