Shore Youth Center (Shelter)
A twelve (12) bed facility providing residential care to children in a non-physically restrictive environment. Length of stay usually does not exceed thirty (30) days. The services of the Center are available for children under the age of eighteen (18) who are: (1) abused, abandoned, and/or neglected; (2) in need of temporary emergency care; and/or (3) charged or awaiting adjudication in the Family Court, pursuant to State Law
Shore Youth Center is designed to meet the needs of each child, while in this difficult transition period. The program provides individual and group counseling, as well as, life skills training. The Center’s major objective is to facilitate the continuation of community-based activities whenever possible.
