Competent Billing Specialist needed to undertake a variety of financial and non-financial tasks. Responsible for collecting, posting and managing account payments, submitting claims and follow up with insurance providers.


  • prepare/submit clean claims to insurance carriers either electronically or by paper
  • answer questions from consumers, clerical staff, and insurance providers
  • identify and resolve consumer billing issues
  • responsible for receiving and sorting incoming payments
  • prepare, review and send consumer statements
  • evaluate consumer’s financial status and establish budget payment plans. Follow up on delinquent accounts.
  • review accounts for possible assignment, make recommendations to billing supervisor
  • perform various collection actions including contacting consumers by phone
  • correct and resubmit claims to third party payers if necessary
  • process payments from insurance providers/prepare daily deposit
  • write reports on billing activity with clear, reliable data
  • maintain strictest confidentiality at all times
  • work closely with finance dept. to design, evaluate, and implement billing processes and systems improvements
  • perform monthly reporting on billing and collection status, provide analysis


  • High School Diploma or GED, or higher level of education
  • Computer proficiency including MS Office, Excel, and billing software
  • proven experience as billing specialist
  • adherence to law/best practices in dealing with customers and data
  • ability dealing with processing of financial information
