Visitation Program Clinician

We are seeking a full time Clinician for our Visitation Program in Ocean County.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Conduct intakes with visiting party to clarify the DCP&P case plan, goals for permanency, and service agreement;
  • Conduct intakes with children when age appropriate;
  • Effectively provide individual, couple/family guidance relevant to a therapeutic visit;
  • Encourage discussion and guide the discussion as needed;
  • Therapy may be implemented as intensive parenting skills training with emphasis on effective behavioral/emotional regulation and management in service of improving family functioning;
  • Demonstrate knowledge in child development, family systems, and issues common to DCP&P clientele;
  • Request evaluation from DCP&P when needed in order to develop appropriate guidelines for visits when parent/child has impairment;
  • Makes recommendations for community linkages;
  • Coordinates/consults with DCP&P personnel regarding consumer/family progress toward goals;
  • Immediately reports unusual situations and safety concerns directly to Supervisor and DCP&P worker when necessary/complete appropriate paperwork;
  • Submit reports to DCP&P as outlined in the policy and procedure manual;
  • Maintain case records;
  • Testify in family court when needed.


Master’s Degree in Psychology, Counseling, or related field

Appropriate license when required

Experience working with children and their families
