Bilingual Therapist

Summary: The Bilingual Therapist is a family-centered clinician, who is recovery oriented in their trauma-informed approach to care.  This individual possesses an expertise in treating adults and exhibits an understanding of evidenced based practice.   The Bilingual Therapist plays an important role in the expansion and enhancement of services at PBHG by providing direct care to adults and building relationships with partners in the community. This individual participates in the multidisciplinary team and seeks opportunities to learn and develop clinical skills. The Bilingual therapist is a full-time position located at 700 Airport Road, Lakewood, NJ 08701.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in social work with clinical licensure as LCSW.
  • Experience working with adults and children with a wide range of emotional and behavioral needs.

Required Competencies:

  • Serves clients who speak Spanish as their primary language in an outpatient setting.
  • Conducts thorough intake assessments, formulates diagnosis based on clinical presentation, and determines appropriate level of care.   
  • Facilitates individual, family, and group therapy.  Begins and ends group on time, prepares any materials as required, initiates new or improved group processes based on needs of the population. 
  • Develops and facilitates weekly group(s) based on client need
  • Provides case management as needed including timely and effective advocacy, consultation, service coordination, and phone contact to community resources and related professionals.  Documentation reflects all contacts made with and/or on behalf of each client.
  • Develops Individualized treatment plans and review of client progress within required timeframes.  Problem List specifies problems in current, behavioral/observable terms and reflects integration of needs identified.
  • Collaborates with Treatment Team to identify clients that are at risk for discharge based on lack of contact, creatively engages vulnerable populations, and makes at least 3 attempts to engage client in accordance with policy, and beyond in high-risk cases.  
  • Demonstrates empathy and compassion for individuals with significant diagnosis disorders.
