Letter to the Editor

By Mary Pat Angelini, CEO, Preferred Behavioral Health Group.

Dear Editor:

In 2020, we have all experienced challenge after challenge. Under a cloud of a dangerous and lethal pandemic, we have all been quarantined and forced to make major changes in the structure of our daily lives. And amidst this, lately we witness civil unrest and chaos across most of media daily.

Study after study has shown that these types of traumas can have a severe and lasting impact on mental health and recovery efforts. Having access to therapy and treatment has never been more important. Preferred Behavioral Health Group is a non-profit organization that has been supporting our communities with these programs for over 40 years, and we have continued to be here during this difficult time.

One of our core values is Cultural Competence, which highlights our willingness and commitment to build understanding between people; to be respectful, tolerant, and open to different cultural perspectives. Preferred Behavioral Health Group stands for empathy, tolerance and respect – for our team of employees and for all those we serve.

If you, or a family member, is struggling with alcohol or drug issues or anxiety, depression or other challenges, we can help.  Please call us at 732-367-4700 or connect via our website at www.preferredbehavioral.org. We have compassionate, experienced and licensed therapists and counselors available for you.

Seeking professional help when you need it is a sign of strength, not weakness.
