Be The Change in Another’s Life -
Give the Gift of Hope

At Preferred Behavioral Health Group (PBHG), our mission is simple yet powerful: to change lives and save lives across New Jersey by ensuring that everyone has access to the behavioral healthcare and essential nutrition they need, no matter their circumstances.

With 1 in 5 adults and 1 in 6 youth facing mental health challenges — and more than one million New Jersey residents, including 272,000 children, struggling with food insecurity — our mission has never been more urgent. With over 1.2 million individuals still without essential care, we need your partnership now more than ever to bring hope and healing to our neighbors in need

Every day, PBHG delivers the clinical care and critical mental health services our neighbors depend on. But to bring heartwarming holiday cheer, nutritious meals, and essential household items to those we serve, we need the support of our community. Together, we can surround every individual not only with the care they need, but with the compassion, dignity, and hope they deserve.

Together, we can make sure hope reaches every person who walks through our doors.

How you can make an impact:

✨ Every gift, no matter the amount, helps someone take one step closer to healing.

The 2025 “Giving the Gift of Hope”
campaign will support…

A Warm Meal. A Sense of Belonging.

Nourishing meals and connection for youth and adults spending their days in therapeutic programs — individuals who are courageously working through persistent mental health challenges. Your gift helps sustain a program that costs PBHG over $150,000 annually — ensuring no one faces recovery on an empty stomach or in isolation.

Holidy Magic for Every Child

Moments of joy and belonging during the holidays for children and teens who have faced unthinkable hardships — neglect, trauma, or separation from their families. Your support helps our programs host celebrations and provide meaningful gifts that remind every young person they are seen, valued, and loved.

A Ride to Healing

Transportation to critical mental health services for youth, adults, and families who otherwise couldn’t reach the care they need. Your generosity fuels transportation to vital services — especially during the holidays when challenges feel heavier and help can’t wait.

Their stories tell our story.

Angela
AngelaProject Independence
“I know for a fact that without Lori and Project Independence, I never would have made it to being a junior at the college I’ve loved since I saw it. I never even thought I would make it to college. I didn’t have a college fund, I had no money for tuition or books, nor did I have a clue about all the steps I needed to take to start and then continue my education. Lori has been and always will be a shining beacon of hope.”

“SAIL has made me feel better in my own skin. My counselor did everything in her power to make me feel safe, and she will always be a role model for me.”

“When I joined LifeSet, I was timid and quiet and hid in back corners hiding from the world. Today I am back to being confident and I am looking forward to my next adventure. My counselor helped me every step of the way.”

Marvin

Marvin received support and guidance from our STAR program for a substance use disorder in 2018 and 2019, and succeeded so well that he is now a certified Peer Recovery Specialist in that program, helping others as he was helped. “I am where I need to be, learning to forgive myself, guiding others, and looking forward to my future.”

“During the pandemic, my family support worker Glory helped us through the whole process. She brought food, diapers, blankets – whatever we needed, and we needed a lot. She connected us with healthcare services and community resources and made sure all of us were well. I am so thankful for all of the help, and I will always be grateful.
